As is the case throughout Rhineland-Palatinate, studying in Trier is free: all you pay is a contribution each semester for social facilities such as accommodation and student canteens. This includes a semester ticket giving you free use of local transport.
The semester contributions for Trier University of Applied Sciences and Trier University differ only marginally.
How will I finance my course? Check out the funding available under ‘Students funding’ on the University’s web site. Trier University of Applied Sciences also provides information and advice on grants, BAföG (federal financial aid) and financial support for young parents.
Side jobs are another good way to raise cash for good times and expanding your horizons. More information is available from the career services of the University or University of Applied Sciences, and from recruitment fairs run by the Student Union. It is also worth checking notices posted around campus as well as local media.
